Got cords for the pit too?

Given the location, I'd not be at all surprised if it's one of ours being sub-sublet, but the name isn't familiar.

Has been a regular thing as long as I've been here and appears to only bother him when he learns they made substantially more on it than he. What hurts him is when someone puts a sublet/share deal together that lets them pool enough money to go straight to the landowner of a multiple blind piece and cut Doug out altogether.

Didn't know it was Rick's spot, just figured he'd know about it.

That guy is owner of "Gueydan Outfitters LLC" and he wants 9,000 for the pit, my buddy called him.

New outfitters/guide service popping up? Know a fair many had shut down over the years, does it seem it's just a cycle and only some stick?

I've not heard anything about the blind except what I've seen here, but I've not talked to Doug other than very briefly about another spot in a month or so, either. I try not to shift into hunting stuff mode until egg season is behind me.

Brown truck just dropped off a case of Remington 16ga 2s for my new-to-me goose gun, the purchase of which was probably the duckiest thing I've done all summer. Need to fix that.

In steel, just Federal and Remington 4s and 2s that I'm aware of. Could only find Federal 4s locally and at something like $22 a box, but saw someone on the net had talked to Roger's CS and learned they might not carry Remingtons any more due to a dispute over Rogers' $180 a case (well below MFSP) pricing, and ordered a case while I could. Only had 2s left.

Might not be able to hit a speck head or neck with however many 2s they get into a 15/16oz steel 16 load, but going to find out...

Well, if I can remember where they hid the Model 12's safety...

Here's hoping you get in on enough goose action this fall to dent that case

I figure it to be a lifetime supply. Most specks I'll get to shoot will be in the marsh with the 20 I'm not afraid to beat up.

The guides at bayou bottom (aka: the catterwallers) had us shooting straight up at pretty long range.
You can probably find that video again.
I doubled one day (one shot) and both geese about clobbered Mike Jones. One landed on his feet and the other behind his head on top of the blind. What are the odds of that?

Goose hunting with a 20-gauge. Oh man that takes me back to my "sneaking" and pond-hopping days. Used to have a route I ran with binoculars. Spot and sneak.
That was long before anyone around here was hunting geese with decoys and blinds etc. That started around 20 years ago.
Before that the way it was done was to wait for them to fly over then hop in the car and race them about 200 miles south to around Anna, Illnois. Many tales of people trying to beat them when speed limit was 55. It was a race to Grassey Lake.

I wish I'd taped the day we were calling them with honker calls and speck calls both. Sounded like goose hell.

Having a hard time getting past "chocolate Chessie," but that guy looks more like Marsh than Peake to me.

Pretty nice start, and a whole lot better than my first pheasants in the "Way back when..." I took a course.
