Charter Arms???

Charter Arms???

Postby assateague » Sat Jul 21, 2012 3:31 pm

Anybody know anything about them or this gun in particular? This would solve the "wife wants a revolver I want a semi" problem quite nicely, but I don't know about the technology at all. If it's decent or been proven, this is the route I'm going to go, but another side of me says it's just a gimmick.

I don't see what would be wrong with it as long as the rounds are held securely. I think that would be the only concern but I like it.

They are pretty good, reliable guns. A friend of mine has one and he loves it. I prefer semi but some dont feel the need to have 16 rounds of 9mm and go with 6-10 .45 or some other cal.
I would shoot a Charter before buying to make sure it fits you, or your wife's hand/needs

I've heard good things about them. A revolver is going to be more user friendly but have fewer rounds and a semi auto take a little bit more knowledge of the gun to properly handle and operate but you also get more rounds. I'm a fan of semi autos since I like to carry as much ammo as possible

My take on a handgun bigger than a .22 is I'm going to use it for self defense. That being said I want the absolute most reliable thing that I can have. It'd be a bitch to get into it with your life on the line and have your gun hang up or fail in some kind of way. Go with RELIABILITY.

With that being said buy a Sig Sauer!

I prefer a semi auto but if I was going to go with a Charter Arms revolver, I would go with the .44 Special (bulldog) not the .40

If you want something easy to shoot, try the HK P7

Ok, listen. I don't want a revolver, the wife does. The only reason I was looking at this one was so I can keep only one type of ammo, and have it interchangeable between the two.

Charter Arms has been around for awhile and at one time their Bulldog. 44 was carried by the Secret Service. I carried one in an ankle holster on duty for awhile.

Believe it or not, it's not about cheap, it's about convenience. I'd hate to have to stockpile another caliber, when I'm so far along with the .40

I forgot WFF is for the down time. Which btw is an awful lot of down time given the current amount of posts :)
