I'm thinking of leaning more towards Assa's medium theory and get two guns, a small carry gun, and then something larger for in the woods etc

We have been talking about the TCP this whole thread....

It's one of huge very few Taurus autos I would even consider buying. And again, for $200, I couldn't hardly pass it up.

At least give one a fondle, red. The trigger is much smoother than a bodyguard or an LCP. In fact the only trigger I liked better in these micro pistols was a sig 238 (single action and a $500-600 price tag.)

This. Likely the only Taurus I would consider owning. It is the only USA made Taurus, and while that in itself wouldn't be a deal breaker, it's the only one I haven't seen sent in for repair yet. They seem to be a solid little gun.

I carry a matched set in my two front pockets and almost forget they are there most of the time.
Shorts and a T-shirt carry!! Here's what my four pants pockets almost always look like.

This is awesome.

The TCP looks very similar but the barrel is a might shorter.

Grips smaller too I think. The one I looked up looked like the magazine was the biggest part. 1" barrel or something.
Mine is 357 mag. The one I saw was 380 so pretty much same thing.
Don't plan on hiding mine. If I'm packing its open carry.

Now I Google more and found the newer TCP's are autos. D'oh.
Odd how the first one I found for sale is a revolver. Ha on me!

The whole idea of concealed carry is that no one (including your friends) knows you're carrying until you decide to double tap the bad guy's boiler room.

Yeah but if Betty's open carrying, and his buddy has a concealed gun, then that ups his buddies chances of taking out the bad guy.

Have always worn my sidearm where it's in plain sight. Will not carry a concealed weapon.
Read what I said in the post you quoted. Open carry

Open carry is retarded. Enjoy being singled out and shot first.

When I carry a pistol it is to shoot hogs. Next time I shoot some will post GPS cords so you can go get the nasty bastards.

Wouldn't even consider a kimber anymore. Was very close to buying a sig 1911 few years ago but my wife talked me into the Dan Wesson. Really did like the sig though.

I shot a Smith Wesson M&P Shield today. It was a pretty nice little carry gun. The one I shot was a 40 caliber and the recoil was not bad. I liked the gun.

I shot one in a 9 on Friday, really like it, I wanna shoot the Glock 42 as well, but I think the Shield might be my new carry gun.
