Sorry to hear about your ear/hearing, sure couldn't blame you to revoke those invites indefinitely! Once had a friend pull up on a bird on my end; I opted not to fire because I could feel/halfway see his barrel not far from my face and knew had I fired, he would have too. That was somewhere around December 2002, we have not hunted together since, but are still friends.
Big ass frog!!

Funny how it's (seemed to be) routine to take a GW or two on hunts in the greater SW La area, but I've yet to hear of one in SE La this season. Know we've killed a couple in the past, think it's the 2011 season was my last recollection of one, but definitely not near as routine as the other side of the state.

May well differ elsewhere in SWLA, but the three we took from a flight this year was three times as many as the one we shot during the past three Septembers combined. Seems like they were once much more common in the September bag, but keeping a species log has been eye-opening for me in that regard.

Maybe it's just DC; he's got them on 4 of his 5 hunts this season out at his new digs.

While hunting with a guide friend on the Illinois River he called the shot on a pelican ?!?
Not sure if he was testing me or what but when I said, "that's a fuckin' pelican" he quickly apologized.
