Thinking about running up to the farm tomorrow since they've missed most of the rains this week and get my brush panels out of old pit so they won't get destroyed when they move pit and re level field this summer/ early fall.

If you've has nearly the recent rain we've had, there's probably no rush on that - but still a good thing to have behind you if you feel the panels are important.

Was able to get out into the old field today and fetch our panels. We haven't had as much rain up there as you guys down south, so the field was plenty dry enough for my Honda rancher, but it was apparent the farmer or someone had been driving through the field in a truck recently without making much of a track.

We rode down to the south end, and I showed the blind partner that came with me today our new spot. He had never been on any of the farm besides our field.

I wish I would have taken a pic, the beans in our field are well over waist high and probably pushing chest high on me. Good rainy summer we've had.

Calling for several inches or rain and flooding in northeast LA, glad we went and got our stuff yesterday.

Thankfully it's been drier up there the last couple weeks so it should soak in some and run off. Really hope things will start drying out in September and October when rice and bean harvesting begins. Not enough that they'll disk up the whole area, but enough for a good harvest since the crops look so good this year.

Dunno, but acts more like big ducks. Maybe just because the clip is too short to show much of anything but them getting up. Maybe because they're summer ducks...

No, I haven't, but it looks damn good. I like doing that with black eyes and smoked sausage. Brown the sausage, add onions and bell peppers and make a gravy, then add the beans. I'd bet that would be good in those limas as well..... I love limas.

Yea they have camellia black eyes and that's basically the idea. Don't forget a skillet of cornbread.

This front is pushing through with some punch. Wife and I were walking when the first blast of north wind hit before the storm. Stuff blowing around everywhere, pine needles hurt at that speed. Some serious lightning too.

Not sure but I don't think it's very wise to show the shotgun with serial number and all. Could be wrong...50/50.
If you ever post that again plz cover up the number with a piece of black tape.
Nice looking weapon yuh got there.

Amos and I walked down to pond this morning around what would be legal shooting time, saw 2 groups of around 20 teal headed south with haste. Usually a group will hit the pond on a good flight day, so we'll see if there are any loafing around this afternoon. Felt nice too by the way, 62 and a light north wind. Full moon tonight and low 50's tomorrow, think I'll do it again.

Look forward to these next few mornings and north winds. Got reports from a couple of guys down this way seeing nice bands of teal headed southward yesterday

They're moving. The local Canada geese all got up and flew "southward" this morning. You won't see them tho. They're "Giants" and only fly about 100 miles south or 100 miles north. They really don't migrate but will move around. Could be molt-migration for all I know. It is that time of year.

I'll try and bag a teal or two this weekend and prove that they do exist.

The local geese haven't started moving up here. I was hoping this cooler weather would get them moving, but so far no signs of the molt migrants or those that took their fledglings and vacated the area coming back or even the ones that stuck around getting more active. Good luck. I expect to be out this weekend simply because it is the last weekend, but right now I'm thinking I probably won't kill a bird during early goose. Of course, I've only been out once. That doesn't help the odds.

I'm not targeting geese. I should because it's what I know. Toting all the decoys kicks my ass. It's not like I can leave a spread out. Two decoys will do it but twenty is more better. Haven't even checked to see if I can get a permit. Pretty sure I reported my standard zero kills before the deadline. Fuck counting and keeping records.
I see nothing know nothing....NOTHING.

However: The boat is attached to the truck. Decoys and blind in there too. Maybe I'll go scout for some teal this evening.
Then get a damn permit.
Sigh.
Sumbody has ta kill dem sum bitches. :duck:

The truck's fightin it.
Barely started yesterday and the engine light came on. FUCK.
So I started fiddling and found out it was trying to tell me "buy a new battery dumbass".
Then I broke one of the bolts taking off one of the leads.
THEN I BROKE the hold it down bolt. (hashtag)AndthenIgothigh. :)
WTF is next? (comes in threes)
Somehow I betcha that battery hold-down bolt is only available at dodge and is $35. Fuck it I'll improvise.
Got everything fixed but that trick bolt.
