Date: sept 15 opening day of teal season

Time: hunted till 9:20

Location: blind 4

Cloud Cover: clear to partly to clear

Wind Direction and Velocity: calm to about NE 6 mph by 7:30

Temperature: 69 at shooting time but pretty comfortable even when we left

Barometer:

Moon phase:

Special Notes:

Waterfowl Activity: lots of high bunches from north, very few working our end

Waterfowl Responsiveness: not much

Hunters: corey and I

Guns:

Malfunctions:

Dog(s):

Special Equipment: 1 mojo (needed more I think)

Kudos: no wasps

curses: I didn't shoot, corey shot 1 and a gator promptly ate it. Had one good bunch gave us a speedy pass after dropping from high up, and hoped they'd give us a better opp but they kept going.

I've never shot a gallinule but have eaten dozens of them the dogs have caught over the years, and I think they're fine.

Many of those silly little things getting run over by the camp. We've had to brake quite often this past weekend.

Decided to stay north this weekend and watch college football, why not break out the black pot too? Working on a jambalaya. I cook my meat and veggies down for a few hours before finishing with the rice and water.

Is that Zatarains jumbalaya mix from a box?
We do it too but have found that if you add a can of Rotel it adds the right amount of zing.
Add hot sausage and smoked sausage too. I like it spicy.
One of my hunting buddies made it one day in camp and it caught on.
Never tried chicken in it yet. More meat...more betta.
