Consistently "lucky" at that.

Great first split! Hoping to work some geese myself in 2nd split up in bunkie area, sounds like the few hunts made on the farm so far were weak on ducks but lots of goose traffic as in previous years

Wife are I are making a road trip as well. Headed to Stuttgart Thursday afternoon on way to Little Rock to get my calls retuned at RNT, then get up Friday morning and head to Kansas City for the weekend. Will be making it by Rogers sporting goods while we are there. Not a hunting trip, just our annual little getaway during the split.

If the ponds freeze up do y'all going in little later in the morning or still go in at dark?

We’ve killed several specks over frozen ponds in northeast la, makes the duck hunting tough though because they usually leave the area.

Last year we killed a 3 man limit of specks in low 20 degree weather with good wind and sun, lots of birds.

Shows how much cold weather we get here LOL

Funny how the cold weather wear end of my closet is the dustiest. I've a couple pairs of fleece under-britches that I've never been able to wear without sweating what's left of my buns off.

Amazing the climate difference in winter between 2 different ends of the state.

Hunt middle of the day during freezes and frozen water doesn’t bother geese as much as ducks

My buddies in east central Arkansas will get to blind around 11 when it’s frozen. It’s abnormal for me growing up in Southwest LA, but I’ve seen it enough times to know it works. We waited one year till 1 and showed up and had 18 by 3.

I’ve grown to where I really enjoy those midday shoots.
