John, think the ducks are getting wary to the increased goose focused spreads down that way?

Yea that all makes sense and obviously you guys prefer geese and are setup up for them. I imagine it’s hard to do really well on both in SWLA rice anymore.

Our area naturally holds more geese than ducks. Occasionally our farm will load up with ducks but we generally hold geese all year.

we usually work more Duck traffic and our geese are using the immediate area.

Years back a fellow from LC rented one of our high ground bean field blinds and then buried a small custom aluminum two-man pit 150 yds from it. Dressed the big blind like a typical whacker's and left a couple dozen old speck and snow shells around it. On hunt days, he and a buddy would carry a dozen stuffed specks to the much better hidden little blind on a pole between them and almost always make quick work of specks that thought the trash blind unoccupied and real birds using the field. Was so easy he gave it up for a spot with ducks, too, to stretch out their hunts.

Great hunt John, the geese are not interested in our bean field this year. I guess it’s too big and slick, especially with our water being higher now after big rain earlier this week. Hoping for some new ducks to show up tomorrow....big south wind today but just nothing doing.
