Whenever I'm listing stuff out of the storage units I buy, I go to ebay and check out the completed listings and that gives me a good general idea of what they are worth.

The reel is worth $40-50. It is a beauty, Nothing is better than the old Ambassadeurs. Not sure about the lures but I like the two Jitterbugs.

The new Revo's are better than the old Ambassadeurs.

Haven't used a Revo yet. I really don't like the low profile over the old round ones. If I do get one I will get the winch.

The winch is a great cranking reel, low gear ratio. I don't care for the round style ones, they are big and bulky. The Revos' are lighter weight, makes a big difference if make 300+ casts a day. They also have a stronger drag than the round ones. The 7:1 has a 18# drag and the 6.4:1 ratio has a 20# drag, I think.

We have one very similar to that one on one of our walleye rods, that one rod/reel combo has caught more walleye than all of our other 'eye rods!

My favorite Ambassadeur that I have is a C3 auto shift. It has two different gear ratios in it. If they come out with a low profile like that I would definitely get one.

I have a c4 5600 and am not a big fan of it. I don't really like the c4 series at all, but that could be because I don't do a lot of casting.

Dad has an old 5500 that has caught more striper than I care to count and has taken one hell of a beating. He loves that damn thing but had a gear or something of the sort break and cant find the replacement part anywhere.

I'll more than likely just mount it right there in the field.

I would say that's why! All I do is use it for casting. The c3 is better suited for bait fishing.

Tell him to check out castaway lakes on line. That's were I've always found any part I've needed for Abu. Prices are not bad ether.

I generally catfish with mine. Only have to cast 10-12 times.
