Nice! Do they spend the summer in the fiver after spawning or you just catching straglers? I went last night with the ol lady, our niece and her boyfriend and we caught about 40 small ones. The biggest one was 22 inches. The big ones must have moved on to spawn or something, they're not where they used to be and I didn't have the boat, the motor or the time to look for them. Good news is people are starting to catch them in the river I live on, so I can spend a lot more time chasing them in the evenings.

We lucked out and they started sending more water down the river bringing up some fresh schools. We do have some that hang out in the river year around but they are few and far between.

River is running high up here, hope all the water helps you out. I think they are trying to drain Shasta Lake before summer hits. Any idea why they are dumping so much water right now? For salmon?

My guess is agriculture flooding and water diversions for central and so Cal.

Hahaha I wish. I don't have kids and I'm sure my wife has a boyfriend. I keep my yard looking good and fish. In the winter I hunt. It a tuff life but someone has to do it.

Several reasons I go at night. Avoid fishing pressure during the day when normal people fish, I've caught some of my bigger stripers at night, and it allows me to spend more time with the wife if I don't leave until she goes to bed. Got to keep the wife happy. But I do prefer to fish early morning or evening.

Headed back out for a two hour trip tonight. We should have had a few more but could hook the bastards, ended up catching 2 25 inch fish.
