Ok atleast try one of those crappie umbrella rigs. Maybe a planer in front of it.

Good point. We found them but they were shut down big time. Nasty cold front running through. Big gusts out there.

I want some mini boards. You are suppose to be able to fish them in rivers from shore for steelhead. Keeping a plug running while floating eggs or something with a second rod. My friends thought I was an idiot for trying. I tried the off shore yellow boards and got it out into the current and the tension got crazy and it fell off and just floated down the river, gone. Friends loved it.

They were just shutdown yesterday. The water is perfect color, that dark limey green. We probably got 10 crappie hits but I landed the only one. I hate presenting minnows through the back on jig heads but i bet it would have improved hook-ups as sad as that is to say.

Church boards are the best, I have two offshores and 5 or 6 churches, best is to set them up to NOT release

Problem with offshores is you have to spend another fucking 30$ on releases that don't suck

never used those yellow birds. Just got to switch out the black clips on offshore boards with those red clips that have that nipple within the pad. Church dont come with flags either. At dollar general i can buy small glow sticks that can be taped to off shore flags. Those lighted flags are junk FYI.

i only upgrade one front black clip with a red nippled release. use the black for snap weights after that. Those snap weight kits are the most overpriced kits on the market fyi.

This is what I put on the offshores, I bought the red ones with the nipple first and they would slide all the way to the uni knot on the power pro, these releases while a bit if a pain in the ass work well, still the walleye board outperforms it right out of the box

Yup. kNow exactly what youre saying. I rarely use braid on trolling gear that is used with boards any longer. When I do I double wrap around the front clip. Trolling rods that have the braid are dipsy rods basically. The red nipples work perfect for mono. Spring browns and walleye fishing are all 15 big game to a 10-12lb flouro leader. The 15 doesnt move an inch within the red clips.

Gotcha, braid isn't the best for a lot of trolling, but we are poor and only have 8 rods and reals, we get by with that by doing 30# power pro and just changing up our leaders for different fish. That way when long lining we can still get deep.

Remember. I sold my lund baron cuz it about made me homeless. Luckily I made allmost all my cash back on it, but I put all my salmon/trout gear on a buddys boat and when you get to share tackle like that you get a few more options.

When I saw them advertised they were talking about getting to feel the fight of the fish better as a selling pt. Im not looking for a fight when im planer boarding walleyes. If anyone pumps a walleye rod around me or reels down on one they re done anyways.

Heres a good pt of contention. Do you set the drag so you can hear the initial bite? Or set them super tight and rely on reading the board?

Actually its not. doh. With braid I would set the drag a bit looser anyway. nevermind.

We set it loose enough that it clicks once a minute or so. For walleye we have tattle flags
