It props their chompers open so you can keep your thumbs when unhooking them.
Also handy for hookers however

Mmm crappie. Been getting the itch bad as of late. Duck ended last weekend and its nice to finally get stuff done around the house. But it's gonna be soooo hard staying off the lake.

Yup...sat there for 3 hours without a fish and we caught our limit in 15min once the sun hit the horizon.
