I fish several Abdul Garcia reels but I prefer Curado 200 series reels. Fish mostly 7 or 7 1/2' medium action rods with 10-11" handles. Have a skeleton handle on a shorter rod for wading and sight casting and a spinning rod and reel for free lining live shrimp and crabs. Almost all are spooled with 30 lb braid but a few are spooled with Stren Original 14 lb test Hi Viz Gold.
I've also got a 1976 Ugly Stick spinning rod that I loan to kids that I take fishing with some kind of green mono. I got the rod and reel from a jobber that supplied Shakespeare stuff to Huntington's Sportsman's Store the first month that the Ugly Stick came out.

Gaddy and I had another slow day. The drought is killing the fishing this year. Luckily we had a few beers and the weather was great.

It just depends, the ocean fish can be any size. Biggest I've caught off the coast was 30 pounds.
