I'm sick of trying to save up for am ams setup. I'm about to go bolt a coffee can to the end if my bow and wrap a string around it. Fleet farm has arrows for $5 right now

That's how I started. Also, a lot of guys use the TI20 spin cast reels. I think they are $20ish, but you need a reel seat and a rod which will run you another $25. Still half the price if the AMS though.

I have a friend that won't even think of switching to an AMS from the TI20. So I guess it's just personal preference, although I think Id probably forget to click the release and break a few lines before I got use to it.

Most of the big time tournament guys use spin cast reels. They are just faster. I bought a muzzy this year and I like it so far. If you forget to push the button your arrow just falls off when you draw. Unless you have a ton of slack line out. I like it a lot better so far.

Yup...2 of em. The original and the pro. I hooked one up on my backup bow and one up on a bow with a 50lb draw for shooting deeper water. I still like the no drag for long, deep shots. But normal nights I generally never shoot over 10 feet so I don't worry about drag much. I just want it to be fast. Which the spinners are.

Reeling in and shooting again. I can bring in a missed arrow or a fish in half the time as the AMS. The arrow is actually a little slower due to some drag. That's why I'm sticking with the AMS for when I'm shooting deeper water.

Weather was better and the wind let us on the big water. Shot for almost 2 hours on the nose. Ended with 20 and with a 21 pouner.

What do you guys do with them? Do you have somewhere to bring them for fertilizer? Post it on craigslist as free fish? If you do the craigslist thing, do you do it before or after you get the fish?

These ones I'll take up north and dump in the woods because we are going up tomorrow. Usually I just burry them in the back yard or find a dumpster that someone will let me throw them in.
I've tried giving them away to farmers and they don't want them because the carp are too polluted. I've posted on Craigslist and never got any response. So I just make them go away however I can.

It's 2 weekends away and should be great fish numbers. If the weather cooperates, there should be some big numbers put up again this year.

Its not a troll. Carp hunters here are fucking disgusting. They leave them to rot on the sides of the road and on the banks.

There definitely should be a limit on carp. I enjoy getting a chance to go carp fishing when I want, and would be very disappointed if I didn't catch at least a few every time I go.

It's illegal to leave fish. And if they are left where other people can see them, it gives all bowfishermen a bad name...Which we don't need, because most of us are in it not only for fun but also for the good if the native species. Bowfishing has come along way in just the 4 years I've been doing it. Don't need people leaving fish around to send us back.
