It's because you're supposed to do it at night.

Just too cold. Water temps dropped 12 degrees since last weekend. Fish went deep or something.

Wouldn't that make them go shallow?

It's warmer down low in the winter. You should know that.

They go shallow to spawn when the water gets 65+. If it gets cold they just go back deeper and look for food. And 250 boats running around for the last 2 days doesn't help either.

Wouldn't you know it, the day after a weekend of spending 15 hours on the water and shooting 71lbs for a tournament I go out for 1.5 hours and shoot 500 lbs.

Yea, was trying to figure out a way to mount the lights and this was the best we came up with for now. Tomorrow will tell for sure I guess

I'm not sure either. Maybe a couple small 27w LEDs pointing straight forward. Can get them for $20ish on eBay.
You're probably going to end up running stuff over that you never saw in front. And maybe you'll be different, but dark spots piss me off. That's why I went from 4 lights last year to 8 this year.

When you upgrade to the fancy halogen lights or decide you dont like bowfishing I'll buy one of those light bars from you.

Those lights will be way better than halogens. I wish I could get 4 for less than $50 to put on my boat for some silent running.

My bad...they will suck. I'll buy the other 3 from you for $20 each.

What is the weight capacity of your boat?
I mean you got a 40 horse on there, a generator, 2 guys, gear, the poling platform, 3.5 horse, the shooting platform. Then add 500 lbs of fish?!?!?
How much free board do you have? An inch?

No idea what the coast guard rating is. With no people and fish but with all the rigging in it draft is about 5" with the pods on the back.
I limit myself to about 1200 lbs of people and fish if the water is calm. Less the choppier it gets. Max loaded it drafts about 10" which leaves me with 10" above the water yet.

I see.
My 1640 has shorter sides than that with a total capacity of 950 lbs.
I had it loaded pretty good one day last season with 3 guys, all our gear, 3 doz decoys, and a heavy old godevil LTMM on the back and was only drafting maybe 4-5 inches of water. They can definitely hold a good bit more than the plate says.

Maiden voyage last night with the bowfishing rig, and I need to add lights straight forward. Also shore up my trolling motor mount. And find a better lake. My buddy ended up sticking two bowfin tho at least (I missed on them). Turned the lights on around 830, and the lights and trolling motor kept going strong till we left after 2
