That's the most my parties have shot, by a strong margin, since we hunted "the turnaround" (flooded pasture) when our marsh was dry, circa 2010 and/or 2011. Could have padded it a whole lot more if my afternoon spot wasn't such a hassle to hunt that I didn't opt to fight it and make a bunch of "family and friends" hunts there - assuming family and friends who could hit them.
Best ever September was 488 around the year 2000.

2018-2019 Season First Split:
BW Teal - 90
Gadwall - 30
GW teal - 42
Mallards - 48
Mottleds - 1
Pintails - 14
Redheads - 1
Ringnecks - 9
Scaup - 1
Shovellers - 20
Wigeon - 1
Wood Ducks - 1
Speckle-bellied Geese - 3
First Split Totals: 257 ducks and 3 geese
While it wasn't that much of a numerical improvement over last year's likely worst first split at the mudhole, this split at least felt appreciably better than that one. Presumably because we fared far better in the relative sense to our other marsh blinds than then.

Should show 258 total ducks and that one mallard was banded.

2018-2019 Regular Season Totals:
Black-bellied Whistling Ducks - 7
Blue-winged Teal - 135
Gadwall - 48
Green-winged Teal - 120
Mallards - 84 (1 banded)
Mottled Ducks - 1
Pintails - 23
Redheads - 1
Ringnecks - 18
Scaup - 5
Shovellers - 54
Wigeon - 5

2018-2019 Regular Season Totals - 506 ducks (1 banded) and 5 geese

Bluewings were all that kept us from setting a new "worst since the late '80s" numerical low.
