Neat. I assume that’s a contest associated with the RNT event? Speck?

Mack’s is awesome in person

Rnt new place awesome in person

The main event was the world cutdown contest—a big deal there, and those boys can run the wheels off of those

The speck event had only 5 contestants but all 5 highly skilled. Lot different now. Every stage caller skilled now,no weak callers
1 Seth fields
2 josh van Norman
3 Christian Morgan

Saw more ducks in fields off side of road coming home out of Stuttgart, then I saw the entire second split back home lol grays, mallards, and spoons mainly

thanks

I think bluewings are special, although I really like them all

I was extremely nervous:
1--it was a child's first bird
2--I didn't even know IF an early season teal could be mounted
3--with bluewing and pintails,,the head skin is very tight,,i had to shave skull of artificial head with dremel

1. I know the excitement of the dad as a dad myself. So that wAs worrisome.

2. I still remember the excitement as a kid of getting a bird done.

So yes I was scared

Still am scared with anyone’s bird, you can’t replace memories. It not just a bird mount. It has a story. At least that’s how I look at it

Perhaps that's why you're so good at it.

Same could be said of your guiding. You know ,for the most part, your guys take something home thAt goes beyond the duck meat.

The observation of you breaking traffic, the working of the dog, explanation of things never heard before

I am sure the smart ones learn from you, that’s what I would be doing, studying the what when and where of how you solicit long range mallard response and we’d discuss that herding whistle as well

Lord knows I enjoy a lot of it, too, but the overarching goal is to make it "as it should be". Not that my idea of that is always the same as my guests'...

Along those lines Rick, would you say you have more guests who expect all mallards feet down out front or more guests who are tickled pink to shoot 6 ring necks?

I think most just want to shoot ducks, and too many of the more experienced ones believe that means blazing away at the first "maybe" opportunity.

To that same question, I was a little surprised to learn yesterday that there's some jostling among the members of what many feel our area's premier private club over who gets the earliest dates, when jacks and teal are most reliable in their 11,000 acres of prime marsh.
