I am looking for a good duck call that will be reliable when the time comes. I have 2 questions about duck calls. My first is what is the best overall duck call out there? My second one is what is the best duck call out there that is pretty quiet and used when the ducks are close?

PS I WANNA KNOW THE BEST DUCK CALL FOR EACH QUESTION. I DON'T CARE ABOUT COST. PLEASE DON'T SAY FOR THE MONEY. I WANNA KNOW THE BEST CALLS OUT THERE. THANKS

For the money, the Buck Gardner calls are good.

There is no such as thing as the best duck call out there. It all depends on what fits the person using it. My favorite all around call is the RNT Daisy Cutter and my favorite close in call is an Echo Timber. That being said most loud calls will get soft and some soft calls can get loud. 99% of the time I use the same call that started the birds to finish them.

Buck gardner calls are supposed to be good though. RNT, Echo, any high end call is good. Just go to a sporting goods store and blow on some and see what you like. Not all calls run the same for everyone.

No such thing exists, period. There is a best all around call for every one out there but not a one size fits all for everyone. My favorite is a RNT Daisy Cutter.

Tyler8492 wrote: My second one is what is the best duck call out there that is pretty quiet and used when the ducks are close?

I used the Microhen this season as my quiet call. I could work ducks really well when they snuck in on me and I didnt want to scare them off. After season was over I got my hands on a Zink NBG that I really like that might end up replacing the Micro. It can get real low and still maintain a lot of rasp. I have also used a RNT Original and Alpha 2 with lots of success as well.

Tyler8492 wrote: I DON'T CARE ABOUT COST. PLEASE DON'T SAY FOR THE MONEY.

The Quackhead series of calls sound as good as RNTs expensive calls and are great to start out on.

Tyler8492 wrote: I WANNA KNOW THE BEST CALLS OUT THERE.

In somebody's hands every call has the potential to be the best call out there. What I say or like may not be worth a damn for you or anyone else so all I say that really holds any real meaning is for you to go out and try every possible call you can get your hands on and see which one you like the most.`

The best call is the most expensive call. That's all you need to know.

Nope. Some of the most expensive calls I have seen lately were "Custom" calls with poly Echo inserts.

I use a kazoo and kill 700 drake mallards a year. Using a real call just wouldn't be fair.

The best duck call is the one that a guy who really knows how to blow a duck call uses.
A good caller can make about any call he picks up sound good.
Get something like an RnT hunter series call (Less expensive) and master that before you worry about which call you like or think is the best. Save your money for gas. Scouting is way more important. No ducks and the best calling in the world don't matter. Save your money for gas in the boat and truck.

The question asked is subjective and many people will say "brand X" call. Of course X=(lots of favorites)

Quite often the bests call is to just STFU and let the decoys do their job.

Yup. I hardly use one, but I'm up north and don't have to "work" for my birds.

I kill my share of divers. Plus teal are way faster than divers.
