Benedryl in your blind bag

Postby aunt betty » Wed Mar 06, 2013 9:09 am

I am suggesting that we all should keep a bottle of Children's Benedryl liquid in our blind bags. WHY?

Because it can save a life. Suppose you're hunting with your buddies and one of them brings his kids. One of them is allergic to peanuts, someone else eats a Snickers bar in the blind without knowing and triggers a reaction...It would be handy to be able to break out the life-saving Benedryl right there. Remember that you might be a long boat ride and a long car ride away from any hospital.

Benedryl can save you or your dog if you get snake-bit. The liquid gets into your system faster. That's why I suggest getting the liquid.

Just learned that Benedryl can save a snake-bit dog so I'm putting a bottle in the truck, boat, and my blind bag. I think it's a good idea.

It is for me. My wife hates it. She swears I'm having a stroke every time I take a couple. Which I do from time to time, just for her.

On a side note, where does one get liquid benadryl? I don't think I've ever seen it.

It's usually children's strength. Adjust dosage accordingly.

Ok, that makes sense. That's what kept coming up when I Googled it, but I thought I was missing something, and could get "pure" benadryl from some vet supply site or something.
