Wool clothes

I have a couple Pendleton wool shirts that I wear duck hunting.
Worth every penny.
Will wear a cotton mock-turtle neck underneath to keep from itching. Throw a Drake pullover on top and I'm ready for almost any weather.

I got 3 really warm pairs from an upscale store that was going out of business, reg price $18/ pair, got all 3 for $18. Warmest socks I own, wish I would have bought 3 more.

Check out this link. I bought 8 pairs a month or so ago, and they are the best socks I've ever owned. Marino wool, at that, and very cheap. I wear a size 13, and these socks fit no problem. Really comfortable and warm. Seriously the best socks I've ever had.

I'll have to look see what brand the ones I got are, super thick and soft, feels like wearing 2 pairs.

Side note, the most expensive pair of socks I have are also the least warm - Under Armor.

Assa- I use the same ones here as well. Smartwool socks are the best I have ever put on. Bar none.

Dang, that's a good price. I only ever use them for hunting/fishing etc, so I have more than enough but if I needed them I'd be all over those.

the merino wool socks are awsome. just have make sure they are 75% or more wool. a lot of companies only have 15% to 20%.



i like smart wool and omni-wool. you can get the omni-wool lighter weight socks from sam's club, 3 pairs for about $15

Neck to toes merino base layer all year. Heavier layers of wool or poly as temperature dictates.

Right now I'm asking my wife and daughter to search the thrift shops and Goodwill for a pair of decent wool pants that are my size. No way am I paying full-price. Don't care how they look because they'll be worn underneath waders.

I should scan the pictures of me with my first buck. I'm wearing an outstanding pair of bright red wool pants that were handed down between my uncles when they started hunting.

Wool socks are the best, but when wearing neoprene waders, it really dosen't make a difference. The climate down there is tropical no matter. For all day sits when deer hunting, there is no substitute, unless you get those thermacell insoles.
