Stupid stuff you dont want/wisk you had not purchased

There are quite a few silly duck gadgets out there.
Post 'em up. That would help younger guys spend their dollars more efficiently.
List some things you wish you had never bought or tried.
Ideas count too. Post the failures. Bad blind construction.

I think the led flashing winged "motion decoys" are a waste of effort. Never tried one.
I also tried burlap blinds...flappy in the wing and the moldy wet smell gives me allergy headaches.

I will second the burlap. Anything made of burlap. That kerosene stink gives me a splitting headache within about a half hour, and the stench never goes away, no matter how old it is.

Burlap makes excellent blind material. I have killed many Ducls sitting behind a burlap. I Admit It smells bad

Maybe it's just me, but that "bad smell" is something I can't get past. It causes me to have a blinding, screwdriver-behind-the-eyes headache within a half hour.

GKR showed me how to cut burlap into strips and put it on a lay out blind. When you mudd them, they look GREAT and the smell goes away

Usually I am all about cheap. There are alternatives to burlap. AT's screwdriver tween the eyes analogy...perfect.
I try like hell to keep dry. No point hunting in rain where I go. Nothing flies or they all simply fly away from the storm.
Have decided I dont hunt when it is raining...unless its gunna stop. I dont get wet much.
Ar. weather changes so quickly. If it looks bad, the ducks leave, I pack up too.

I cover the top angle Iron of my pit blind with a burlap drape to help break the sharp edged appearance of the iron and keep it from marring guns leaned on it, and the draped portion cuts down on the black hole of the pit.

Never equated its smell with kerosine, but mine came to this country full of coffee beans and then carried farm release alligators back to the marsh. Guess its is a fine blend of aromas.

Yes. Never heard of using burlap for a layout. Wondering how it's attached, how long the pieces should be, mud before or after, etc...

Douche.

Yes, that is a fine Seasoned fire arm. Once it reaches that level of use they are finally broken in.

I would drag mine out of the decoy shed, but it is buried under all my snow goose decoys and snow goose floaters. I really need to organize my decoy shed but its not September yet.
