New Waders

Went down to Sportsmans Warehouse today and got myself some Rustic Ridge outdoors 3.5MM waders. So far I like the hell out of them for $120s worth. Do you guys know if they're worth a damn????

I'm convinced that they're all made by the same Chinaman. I spent $70 for a pair of Kobuks last month, and am waiting to test them out. Without ever having been near water, I love them. But we'll see.

$35 academy clearance last year equals over a year of stating dry so far. They're all the same at the basic neoprene level just different boxes.

Hunting in SE Texas, I need neoprene waders for duck hunting about as much as I need an accordion on a duck hunt.

So, my breathable waders are 4 years old and I don't think they will make it through number 5. Last season, I had to do some extensive hole patching and seam sealing to get them through the season.

I prefer sock foot wader so I can use lace up wader shoes. The mud in marsh were I hunt loves to suck the slip on wader boots off. The problem is finding camouflage breathable waders with stocking feet. Anybody know where I can get a new pair?

I think I saw some kind of clip on boot strap that cris crosses under the arch and behind the ankle to tighten up the boot, maybe that would let you use boot foot waders and have more options when shopping.

Cabelas had some that were breathables that had the wader shoe built in em instead of the boot. I think they were called millennium breathables or something.

You can used old tire tubes as well. Find the right size and cut into inch and a half strips. Figure 8 around your boot and ankle.

I managed to find some camo, breathable, sock foot waders at Texas Fowlers and ordered a pair.

I doubt that they will be in before next weekend, though, so I will probably pick up a second pair of boot chest waders at someplace like Academy.

I looked into the strap idea at the boot and Cabela's sells them. But, after reading the reviews, it was pretty clear that it was just way overpriced 1" nylon straps with buckles. I think I can make that myself.

But just couldn't pass on being able to only go waist deep in the water. I wouldn't be able to use them in all of the places I hunt. They do look comfortable though.

Just hunt in deeper water and you won't need camouflage. I'm trying to find some breathable waders in hot pink, neon green or blaze orange.........I hunt in a blind or on the shore behind brush. There is so much crap washed up on the shore that if ducks were afraid of "color" we wouldn't have any ducks.
