Mine is spot/flood combo. The pics don't do it justice. I can see channel reflectors 300yards away and objects close to 200 yards. Lights up about 60 yards like its daylight.

Bootlipkiller wrote:I ordered a flood/spot combo but I suspect by looking at the lens it's only a spot. But to be honest Im so happy with how well it works I really didn't care. The rivers I fish are probably an average of 100 yards wide and you can easily see both banks if you run the middle.

You can distinctly tell between the fog and spot. The fog has a "glazed" glass looked and the spots are clear.

Holy shit, this thing is no joke. I just touched the wires to the battery for tonight to make sure it works. And yes, it works. Had it sitting on the roof of the Jeep, and when I made contact, airplanes started trying to land in the back pasture. Love it.

It can be a blessing if I'm wrong or I get to bask in the glory of an "I told you so moment".

I'm finished, but it took almost 10 hours, and my back may never be the same from being contorted under the dash. At one point I was legitimately stuck.

Cameras don't relay how much light they actually put out either

Re-visiting old threads...lol
Ended up buying an LED light bar. Got mine for $56 I think.
120 watts and woa is it velly blight. (Made in China)
Flood-spot combo lights up trees from side to side and upwards
too. It's not a lot of help on big water as many would say.

At the beginning of this thread I was a skeptic. Not that long ago.

I've found a 15" light bar for 39 bucks

A Watt is a measurement of power. The higher the watts the more amps are used.

Watts = amps x volts.

But that is kind of useless. Most people want to know the Amperage to find out how long their battery will last so we use this formula.

amps = Watts / volts

So for a 120 Watt light you would do

120W / 12v = 10A

If you're on-board battery has a reserve capacity of 100 Amp hours (Ahrs) then the light would run for 10 hours until the battery was fully drained.

Yeah, the original sales pitch on the LED lights was that they use less power. They use more...
Had 2 forty-watt regular tractor flood lights on before. They use less power than the 120 watt but the LED setup is way brighter and covers everywhere in front of the boat. Ten amps is a pretty heavy load.

That is NOT true. Like at all.

Go look a few pages back in this very thread and you will see there a 55 Watts filament light draws more amperage than the light bar I did the review on which was 72 Watts.

A LED of equal lumens does not use the same power as a filament bulb of equal lumens. This is not an opinion, that is a fact.

Never said anything about lumens. You're thinking brightness and lumens per watt of sumthin.
40 watts times two vs 120 watts and that's two thirds less current. (less light too. WAY less)
Ohms law applies no matter which side of the argument you want to be on.

You're trying to say that watt for watt, amp for amp you get more light from LED light source than incandescent. (more efficient) I got that a long time ago in like 1976 and it is true so you have nothing to argue about. People not in my boat hate them bright assed lights by the way. :D
Dey brite.

LED = more lumens per Amp. That's all I was ever saying.
