Important piece of gear

Postby aunt betty » Sat Dec 14, 2013 8:14 am

This book. It really helped me improve my ID skills.
Plus it's great for settling arguments.
How it works:
You start with the bill. It has pages of them. Simply match the bill by size, shape, and color and it sexes the duck as well.
Hens bills are smaller.

Next check wings.

Finally there is a foot chart.

Dang things cost $11.95 plus tax.

I totally agree with you.
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.” ― Samuel Adams

Another piece of gear I value is my camp coffee maker. Its a perkolator where you boil the water and it perks through a tube...
Drip coffee is about 185 degrees and perked is 212. Stays way hotter, way longer in the thermos. In fact, I can make coffee the night before and it's still hot when I get to the blind.
