Gloy's Heat Pal

Have found a lot of cool stuff while digging thru my dad's old stuff and the latest find is a heater for ice fishing I think. Maybe it's for a deer stand but it's sure cool. Runs on denatured alcohol. Clean dry heat is something I need in my tent.
This Gloy heater is like a big sterno. Can't even smell it AND it's big enough to cook on.

Already have coleman catalytic heaters (old school too). They're nice and make clean dry heat but not enough on them nights where it hits the teens or single digits. That's when I break out the big Mr. Heater but...
Propane heat is wet. Makes the tent sweat on the inside bad when it's that cold.

This alcohol heater has three setting and high is cranking. No more shivery nights (or wet).
Dry heat is a big deal when you sleep out every night for a couple weeks. I'll post a picture of it.

Here's a guy in Alaska raving about his Gloy Heat Pal. It's from the 60's and made in Sweden.

It is sweet. Not super powerful but ideal for small tent or a car size space. Safe, clean, and,dry heat

Have three old school heaters that are better than propane.
A 3000 btu colemam catalytic heater, a 5000-8000 btu coleman catalytic heater, and the Heat pal. All are fantastic and don't make moisture like propane. It's been 20 at night and the 3k coleman is good enough to make it so I don't see my breath. Last night was windy so I used the big one. Toasty but it used an entire gallon of fuel in 8 hours on low. (Ouch)
These ain't cheap heat sources but are safe and clean.

Here's another safe heater for tents. No longer manufactured but you can still find em on ebay.
Turn it upside down after filling. Squeeze the bottom like an old oil can once til it gets a,small wet spot. Light, then blow it out after a minute or two. In 10 minutes it will be all glowing sort of. Nice heat.

Now this one...puts out 8000 btu. Will use a gallon of camp fuel a night tho. It's for when it gets windy and in the teens.
