Super-cooling tubes

Postby aunt betty » Fri Jul 07, 2017 10:13 am

While surfing youtube I found a video on how to get yeti-performance out of your everyday el cheepo cooler.
Lots of good tips in the video but one is most brilliant so I'll share it.

The concept is to freeze salt-water. Freezes at a lower temp than everyday water.
Make tubes out of 2 or 3 inch pvc pipe. Glue a cap on one end, fill 3/4 full with salt solution, cap it up, then freeze.
Build them to fit your cooler bottom.
Second tip was to make a grill out of a wire-rack shelf so your bacon isn't soaking in the juice from when your ice melts.
The tubes makes the ice last longer until they're thawed out. You re-freeze them at home.
Might have to give it a try.
I've heard that it's incredibly stupid to fuck around with a crazy man's head.
