Every boat owner should have one

Especially when the nearest boat ramp is 32 miles away.

Think I got enough reflectors on the boat and trailer? Where I park that sucker is DARK.

Last night my engine was making a noise like I ran into something.
Would be putting along idling and RACK...like I'd tagged a brick or something with the prop.
Did it a second time right by the dock?!?
Either there is shit floating just underwater or I got a gear broke. My prop has rough edges like I hit something but not too much...not all gouged up or nothing. Seen way way worse.

So I been running it in the driveway trying to make it happen again. Starting to look like the new "boat club" on the tame end of the lake where I hunt is a bunch of pos liberals with canoes, kayaks, and long boats like you'd see on the Potomac River.
I've got a sneakin' suspicion that they're trying to mess with waterfowl hunters. They've got a dang "course" set up with buoys all over the damn place.

Seems to be ok.
Changing the gear oil though.
Wanting to see if it's got hunks-o-metal.
Nope.
It's kind of dark tho.
There is nothing like the smell of gear oil in the morning.

That beats the heck out of balancing a six gallon bucket on bricks. Love it.

Had a guy trying to move so close in front of us where we couldn't hunt one morning. I was hot. Stood up and expletives didn't stop him, who never said a word.

Three wood ducks came in low from my left. When I stood up to shoot, they put on the afterburners. I killed the first one and sprayed his starboard side on the water right next to him, followed the other(we were allowed two each) right across the guy and had to wait to drop the second one on his port side, spraying the water next to his boat. He left and I saw him no more during the season, or forever for that matter. The nerve...
