Flame King Fill-up

Postby Ricky Spanish » Tue Nov 10, 2020 9:10 am

If you run a buddy heater this frees you up for buying the tanks over and over again. Its not cheap.
The kit with one bottle and filler is ~$35.
The bottles are ~$15.
If you go every day flame king is the way to go.
Plus I'm sick of finding the green tanks everywhere. Pack out your trash.

Never seen the refill deal before, and thought the small ones were strictly disposable. Been a long time since I have needed a heater in the blind, but if I needed regularly, that would be a sweet way to go, Thanks for the hack!

I'm spoiled and run two buddy heaters where I don't need gloves. I go thru them tanks and its way cheaper to fill em myself. I'll go out until its like single digits. Its either hard core waterfowler or mental illness. Little of both

That is a great idea AB. Thanks. I just bought a buddy heater a few weeks ago. Seems to crank out a lot of heat.

Be aware that the filler thing breaks easily too.
Its not a rugged system and has some plastic in there that can break. I found out the hard way. I use it because I can go a week easily on one big tank and be cozy in the blind. I go thru about 2 pounds a day roughly until is serious cold then 4.

Oh yeah... the new buddy heaters suck.
The 'hunting buddy' is a pos designed to break. Plastic pieces fall off new.
The new 'system' where you can buy accessories is overpriced and from what I saw the ceramic parts are rock wool instead. Some kind of wool.
Its over priced and im not messing with it.
So if you're loving the red buddy heater BUY TWO NOW. Its obvious to me that they're about to get phased out.
Sorry.
