Dragonfly airboats

Does anybody have any experience with the Dragonfly airboats? The concept sounds cool and I like the purported MPG and quietness of the engine. My concern would be the carbon fiber hull hitting a stump and putting a hole in the hull and they seem a bit small because I usually hunt with 4 hunters. I saw some of the larger models and it got me thinking and they seem relatively low priced if you compare them to traditional airboats.

I hunt down in the lower laguna madre and I've considered a mubboat but the grassbeds are pristine and I'd be concerned about tearing them up with a mudmotor. Have yet to find the perfect solution.

never even heard of the company, but just by looking at their site i feel like it would be very cramped for 4 dudes!!

I saw they make a metal hull, but for 20K I'd want more space. It's a cool concept and probably a blast to drive.

Sounds like "an accident waiting to happen" to someone only familiar with larger traditional airboats.

The title of this thread....reminds me of a disney movie where two mice rode on a leaf propelled thru the swamp by a dragonfly named Evinrude.

If you want an airboat check out Air Ranger. They are kinda expensive, but they are some badass boats.

I'm having the same problems, looking for the just right boat for duck hunting and fishing. A shallow water flats boat? A mud boat? An airboat? Perhaps a flounder boat with outboard and air motor. I want to get into the back lakes and still have to cross the bay. An airboat seems to be the best bet.....a 16' airboat with a small block chevy might be enough, it would have to be able to run dry with three or four guys and dog and decoys. Larger boats with big block chevy's use a heck of a lot of fuel but seem to be the ideal duck/fishing boat. Almost need to guide hunting and fishing trips to pay for my hobbies.
