That gun box is wide enough to sit on - 2 adults or 3 kids..... easy. Its made from aluminum. I attatched it to the boat with something called a riv-nut. Its a way to have a backing nut someplace where you can't get your hands. You drill a hole then use something similar to a rivet gun. Once the riv-nut is in place you bolt the item down.

Check around you might be able to find a pre-built gun box somewhere. Mine came from mud buddy, but it was built specifically for my hull. I think beavertail used to make one.

I have the same trolling motor as you do TK. Mine is the bow-mounted version and is older by about 4 years.
That'll push a 14' jon-boat at a pretty good rate.
When I bolt it onto my pintail layout boat it goes pretty fast too. The limit is rpms not power.
You'll be happy with how fast it goes.
Setting 1 or 2 is great for trolling and casting along a bank hunting bass. :thumbsup:
