Improvement ideas for my duck boat

I have a 16/52 with a nice permenant blind on it. It has a 30 HP Johnson that meets my needs.
What is next is making it more user friendly.
I am thinking about making a rack on board that will hold a couple dozen decoys, like what you would see at a bowling alley or something. A way I can use wasted space and keep them off the floor.
How do you carry decoys on your boat?

I carry them in their bags, but I've seen decoy racks that are basically 1x8s that have notches cut from the top side, and you slide the decoy down onto them.

That is a quick, 2 minute ms_paint drawing so bear with me. I would believe you put the decoys alternating on each side to stack them closer, but you would also have to make it sit out away from the gunwale a little to fit a decoy between that and the decoy board. BTW, I think the gap of those open areas would be a whole lot closer, because you are putting the line winding area thru it and the keel and the decoy body hold it in place.
Not sure if it would actually be practical. I dunno. Just throwing it out there.

Thinking about that more, you could probably get away with putting that board almost horizontal and then you wouldn't have to have it sitting a foot away from the edge to put decoys on both sides and depending on how tall your sides are, you might be able to do two levels. Who knows, have fun.

Does any one use a propane heater in their duck boat?

We use propane heaters in our blind boat. We have a heater head mounted in the front and the back. We have the two piped together so we hook it up to one 30lb cylinder.

I would love to see any pictures you have of that...I am worried about catching my blind on fire.

I will try to get over and take some pictures for you. The blind boat is not at my house, so I will post some pictures as soon as I can get over there. We have sheet metal as the base on our frame, instead of the chicken wire like you have. We dont have to worry about the brush coming in contact with the heater.

I keep telling myself I'm gonna run some led light under both gunwale rails shining down on the floor of the boat. I found a kit I like at AutoZone with 6 - 3 diode lights. I've just been lazy.

Here are a couple pics of the heaters we have. The one in the back is attached with a piece of all thread to the blind frame. The one in the front is attached to the bottom of a shelf we have built in.
