Outboard muffs are way too cheap to mess with that.

Unless your intake is in the prop. Like mine is. Which means I have to tote a trash can around and fill that bitch up with water every time I mess with it.

I've never even heard of that! What kind of motor.

No. No shit this time. (Although I do like "Assafact") It's a little motor, a 3.5HP Nissan. Not sure, but I think a lot of the smaller motors have the intake located close to mine. Impeller is right behind the prop, driven by the prop shaft.

Can't get the RPMs too high with water muffs though. Maybe AB is having top end trouble....

It's pretty nice when it comes to replacing something. To replace the $8 impeller, I just have to pull a cotter pin and loosen two bolts. Easy peasy.

I was honestly thinking some kind of motor that you made(jimmy rigged) for about $50. I was picturing something along the lines of a weed eater with an edger blade for the prop, that you some how made the motor water cooled.

Really? You tip the motor up, bring the barrel over, lower the motor into the barrel, and fill it with water.

Come on.

Pull the plug, or grab a hose and let it gravity feed out till you can tip it. Or put it on a roller before you fill it.

This isn't rocket science folks

Or instead of creating a bunch of extra work for yourself, use it on its side.

Come on Goldie! Applying labor one time vs. every single time.

I don't know about you, but I would rather have a pita project once, rather than a bunch of times...

There is absolutely nothing pita about dumping over a drum.

If you have a low motor/trailer, and have to syphon the water out because you can't physically just dump the barrel over, IS a pita. Especially when compared to using a barrel on its side, and having the ability to dump it, with NO EXTRA WORK.

How often are you using the barrel to run your motor? If it's more than once a year, you've got something going on that you can't fix so bring it to boomerang to fix it. Otherwise, why trash a perfectly good barrel that everyone wants to turn into a smoker?
