Who are the pipe benders?
Posted: Wed Jul 10, 2013 1:27 pmI just picked up this bender for my boat blind. Any experienced benders on here? I have never bent conduit before.

Posted: Wed Jul 10, 2013 1:31 pmI haven't done it in quite some time, but it's easy. Just have to know where the pipe will actually bend compared to you mark. Once you learn that, line it up properly, and bend away!

Posted: Wed Jul 10, 2013 3:17 pmPutting a bend in the exact spot you want it isnt easy. I have conduit benders too but almost never use them. My FIL was an electrician. I got all kinds of electrical goodies.

Plumbers use pipe. Electricians use conduit. I'd like to see you bend some pipe.
You got a wire bender? Its like a small brick-bender. Now that I think of it...the eye surgeon I worked for had more and nicer tools than me. Now I see why. Thanks.

Doesn't look like it. I bent conduit, and pulled wire in high school, but that was a while ago. Practice on a few pieces to learn where you 90 will actually end up. It's pretty easy to make you bend at 3' end up at 2' 8" if you aren't sure.
You shouldn't have any problem after a few pratice bends...
