Is that a weldbilt boat? I'm looking at getting one of their crawdad models.

Its an Excel, built in AR before the hurricane wiped out the factory.

Them excel boats are nice, real fast but real heavy. Buddy had one that I almost bought before the gatortrax and it was a nice boat it had the deck on the back.

Recently acquired this sneakbox. Has doors (not shown). Was painted that dark olive green jersey guys love so much. Was thinking about repainting a neutral brown/tan and stencil grass overlays. Talking to others, advice was just grass it and be done.
Taking all comers for advice. First boat of this hunting type. Also, topside has 3/16 holes drilled presumably to attach grassing. So Im also looking for more experienced hunters input for best practice to mount grass/camo. I figure why re-invent the wheel.
Thanks, Bayside
PS Hunt south jersey marshes and coatal areas.

I've seen guys install eye bolts/screws to the deck, then run bungee cord through them to create a net for grassing.

My guess is they holes were for eye screws...that would be my recommendation. No need for paint if grass is going on it.

Thats similar to what I did on my marsh rat. I used pad eyes to run the cord through and went to a rock climbing store and bought 3/16" shock cord, ran it all the way around the perimeter. Lift up cord, slide tules under and let go. Quick and easy, and it always matches the area im hiding in.

Thanks for ideas and compliments! Tough having a new toy and not getting to use it for 8 months. I do enjoy planning outfitting and modifying but nothing beats putting it to good use! Right now I am working on new lighting (bow/stern and light strips for inside). Prior owner had a crude panel w/couple of switches, so I am trying to figure how I want to configure. Also, pondering how to create storage racks for gun/poles or oars and decoys along interior gunnels. All part of the fun.

Thanks. I did a crap ton of work last spring to get it ready for fishing. I added the deck up front, all the electronics, new floor, paint, camo stencil on the outside, bedliner on the entire inside, led courtesy lights, flush rod holders, cooler strap down, trolling motor, 26 gal livewell (easily removable, and all plumbing/pumps)

You might have enough beam width to fit laflamablancas poling platform. Check the classifieds but I think it's 72".

This is my new one for this year, older cabelas NF blind. That's coming off at the end of the season. Building a hi/low to put on her next season. I'll start a thread when I actually start it. Boat has to go back to the MF once this old blinds off for some warranty work.

It kills me to see it just sit. It has become to much of a chore to find people to go let alone fit that into the right conditions on Lake Michigan.

Here's my Chuck Huff sneak boat that I got at the end of last years duck season but never really got to use. Just picked up that 7.5 merc to power it. Won't scream but it should be a fun little boat.
