I've got 7 seasons on it so far and I think its holding up really well. When it was new I did add some raffia grass just to get some dead grass colors for late in the season.

I transport with the blind rolled up so I don't really see how it could be an issue.

I think its just 3/4" emt. At the point where it couples together they "crimped" a male side they you just add a couple sheet metal screws to secure. It holds up pretty well, I try to keep guests from putting too much weight on it though. When we hunt we'll usually lay both of our guns on top of the rails to keep the dog from knocking them over.

Pretty sure they come in 4' X 18' panels, but I think they are kind of spendy. I like the idea of it working like a ghillie suit.
