I had gotten a few questions about my blind and how it is set up. I snapped a couple pics as we put it back on the boat getting ready for season. It goes on/off the boat in a matter of 15 minutes. I especially like the fact that the material rolls up for storage rather than folding into the boat and the belly bar which gives some extra room on the inside.


It takes 4 7/16" nylock nuts for the pivots

Pivot points attached with blind material hanging

3 of these straps on either side of the boat run up to a snap buckle at top center

Snapped withtl the blind up

The blind up with material rolled.

Pop the 3 snaps and let it sit on the rails.

When its time to hunt you pull both sides up and snap the 3 buckles together, and roll down the material. I can deploy it solo in under a minute.

That Is sweet setup tripod.

Are the three buckles that hold it up in span between the shooting hole you stand in?

Yes. They actually start at the top of the gunnel (previous pic with the green 1" strap), hook solid to both bars, then hook in the center of the "shooting lane". The blind can't shift side to side and is actually very sturdy. Could be easily adapted for other types of conduit framed blinds.

I read online that as long as I have 4 dozen duck calls I'd be fine. Was it supposed to be 4 dozen decoys and 4 duck calls? ? ?

No you'rer right. But the duck calls have to be made from unicorn horn, yeti dick, and mermaid scales. But the decoys can't be ghg.

Tripod, I like the looks of the blind but, I've looked at some of the reviews. I'm curious, have you had problems with the material coming apart. The main complaint that I saw, when I looked it up, is the rags and loose material falls off. One of the reviews was pretty old but, he said he covered the boat when transporting but still lost material just deploying it. Have you seen any of this problem with yours?
Like I said, I really like the looks of it. It deploys about as fast and easy as what I already use on my boat but, it looks like the frame is probably more rigid. Is it 3/4" tubing?
Do you know if the material can be purchased separately from blinds?

I've got 7 seasons on it so far and I think its holding up really well. When it was new I did add some raffia grass just to get some dead grass colors for late in the season.

I transport with the blind rolled up so I don't really see how it could be an issue.

I think its just 3/4" emt. At the point where it couples together they "crimped" a male side they you just add a couple sheet metal screws to secure. It holds up pretty well, I try to keep guests from putting too much weight on it though. When we hunt we'll usually lay both of our guns on top of the rails to keep the dog from knocking them over.

Pretty sure they come in 4' X 18' panels, but I think they are kind of spendy. I like the idea of it working like a ghillie suit.

Because it's dirty. Ducks won't want to come near that filth you have covering your boat....

My friend got a blind like that on his boat last year and other than needing to unhook one edge to get the mud motor swung around it works awesome

Do you sit in chairs in the boat or just stand? How high does your's sit off the floor of the boat? Going to throw one together today but not positive on how high I want it.

We sit in some fold out hunting type chairs, I set the blind up so that when sitting its just below eye level. You can easily duck down or still shoot from sitting.

Let me know if you need any dimensions or more pics of anything. I know the little metal deals for attaching the 1" strap can probably be replaced with something else but they do sell them separately if needed, I think.

I got mine roughed out today and think it's gonna work just fine. Have been wanting to do this for years but kept thinking about doing some fancy over engineered flip top blind. Should have just done this a long time ago. Going to go cut reeds to make mats for it now. So far I'm $9 deep.
