That would entail me repainting the whole base coat. I'm running out of time to be doing that much so the base color is going to be black.

My initial thought was to use brown to paint big blobs so that the base was more of a black and brown cow looking thing with spray paint so that I could let the brown be lighter and darker by how thick I put it on, going for a "muck under the water" look. Then on top of that do some sort of stencil or just freehand some cattails. Was trying to figure out a way to get two colors on one paintbrush (tan and brown) to be able to get a highlighted cattail all in one brush stroke. Not quite sure how I'd do that yet.

Maybe I'll make a "how-to" video of my hybrid paint. It really is very quick.

Eh, F it. I'm just going to grab some weeds and hold them down as I spray brown over it to get my base of a brown/black mix with some foliage in it.

I would like to see how you did your limbs/leaves on your boat though Assa.

Whoever allowed fiberglass bondo to the lazy people of this world, needs to be shot.

They started out strong with real fiberglass (one layer), then just bondo'd everything and didn't sand the bondo.

Wow that turned out awesome!

Yea, it was kind of backwards having a black base layer but i managed to cover enough of it. Only took 6 cans of spray paint for everything.

Ghost effect? You mean the grass pattern on the blobs?

Im still not sure what you are saying so here was my painting process:

The boat was black to begin with, so the first step was painting blotches of brown and green. The better way to do it would be with paint in a cans and brushes, but i was able to do it with spray paint. It's just tougher to get the solid edges with spray paint. After i had those on there, i took some grass i had picked from around the runoff pond, held that up to the colored spots, and lightly misted black over it which leaves the color below looking like the grass with a black shadow behind it. At this point i had planned to do cat tails with the khaki color. Since i had spray paint tho, i just decided to keep doing blobs, so over the brown, green, and shadowed grass I painted khaki blobs. This is what it looked like at that point (ending point for the night).

I had intentions of getting pictures along the way but it was dark and i wanted to get it done, sorry.

I was actually happy with that fir myself, but since i was basically putting it to market, i decided to shadow over the khaki blobs just so it looked fancier to our eyes.
