Where is your boat?

Postby FlintRiverFowler » Tue Jan 28, 2014 10:10 am

Playing off Betty's wader thread here...
How/where do you store yours in the off season?
Or do you use it year round fishing?
What improvement plans do you have for your duck rig in the off season?

Mines in the garage filled with gear and decoys from last weekend, motor is taken apart to replace the bushings on the top frame mount and I have lots of plans for mine in the off season including a paint job, a floor, led bar and nav lights, and a pop up blind (google killer elite blind & the design should come up) but I already have a build thread started. So ill keep that stuff there.

Mine is tarped up sitting next to the barn to keep some snow out.
Gonna bring it in sometime next month to switch it out from duck hunting to fishing/bowfishing.
Planning on putting some pods in it, touch up the paint, revamp the blind a little, maybe put a slick bottom coating on, and install a radio this offseason.

Mine is upside down on a cotton trailer. Main thing is to try and get the motor running this year.

Just sitting in the backyard and didn't even have to use it this year. Need to take the blind off, change impeller, slap the side imaging on it and chase some crappie.

I kinda want a radio, and pods too. Thought abt the slick bottom but its not a mud boat and I don't go through much vegetation either.

I want the radio mostly for fishing. Pods will be nice...With the 40hp on the back it sits pretty low. I mostly want to do the slick bottom for a sealant and protective layer. From time to time I have to drag the boat across gravel bars and it is scratching the hell out of the bottom.

Woulda been nice to have the slick bottom last weekend, got hung on stumps 5 times. Coulda helped with sliding off. I only hunt that lake once or twice a year though. It is however full of stumps.

I hate stumps something fierce. Only ever been hung up on 2, but both were too deep to get out and push the boat. Took almost an hour to get off one and it was well into the night when we were going home after a shitty night hunt.

I think we need a full report on the big duck blind boat that you built.

How many ducks and geese did you shoot from it?

How many times did you get is stuck in the mud or on a sand bar?

How many times did it capsize because of wind?

How many guys got killed or injured?

How many suffered from carbon monoxide from trying to cook or keep warm in that contraption?

Where is it now?

My boat is in the boat barn, and on all the classified sites because it is for sale.

I use a couple to work out of year round. My 15' phatbuoyz marine is on the trailer with 15 dozen puddle duck decoys in it. Both the boat and decoys are in need of cleaning, everything is coated in mud. Plan on buying a mud motor for it by next season.

I can fix you up with the lady at the credit union if you have any kind of down payment. Just bring a thousand to open an account and something I can sell for another thousand and have good credit and we are in business. Titles in hand!

Sorry ron i wish i could being myself to do that but I like having my boat paid for. as simple as it might be at least I own it outright. Those mud boats are so inflated in price it's crazy.

Mines laying in the grass next to the carport where I unloaded it Sunday. In a couple days it will be hung in the shop until I get around to doing some mods to it later this coming summer.
The other boats sitting out back waiting for a water pump install.

There is really no reason to be such an asshole about it, you dont have to hunt out of it, so why do you give a fuck? I live 2 hours south of TK and those style blinds are all over around here. No big water to cross, just a bunch of marsh with timber. They fit in fairly well and are comfortable as hell to hunt out of. Do a 2 minute Google image search for hi/lo blind, tk is no pioneer in the subject.

Mine is sitting in front of my garage. As soon as it warms up enough for the 5200 to cure I have a thru hull to install, 2 bilge pumps to wire and install, underwater lights for night fishing to install, and as soon as they all get here, another set of interior LED's for the other side of the boat and a new stern light.

Don't worry TK, if I ever actually have something to say to you, I will get it taken care of. Something kind of like this.

Could someone please quote me, so this angry annoying old man can read my post. Thanks.
