ive said this at least 53 times!!!

Surrounded by fresh water that is froze 5 months if the year, and rich people, this is the Mecca of used outboards and I have the hook ups

I guess I should pay more attention. Although I'm not sure if it'd be worth it for what I'm looking for this spring, I'm going to keep that in mind when I build my 10 footer. By the time I'm done with shipping and/or driving up there to get the sonofabitch, it'd have to be a pretty cheap motor to save me money.

Deal. But if it's early summer, I may keep him for 2. Lots of shit needs done around here that time of year.

Yeah, I was thinking a short shaft 9.9 would be plenty for a 10' boat that weighs 100 pounds. But it won't exactly be hydrodynamic, or whatever the term is, so I don't want to go with a 7.

Yeah, I was thinking a short shaft 9.9 would be plenty for a 10' boat that weighs 100 pounds. But it won't exactly be hydrodynamic, or whatever the term is, so I don't want to go with a 7.

Those boats are that light? I've kinda got mine mapped out. Planning on making it a little more heavy duty, but I thought it would be around 200lbs. 10' with pods.

Actually, it may be a little heavier, but I don't think it'll hit 200. Mine is 7'6", and weighs about 50-60. I know there's a little more structure to the 10 footer, and I haven't decided how I'm going to do some parts of it, but I don't think it'll hit 200. Maybe.

We got this thing called the Atlantic Ocean 12 miles away. I know plenty of guys who run tuna boats. He can fish to his heart's content.

Assa I have a mid 50's 5.5hp you can have for your little boat. Just gotta go to Flint's house in GA and grab it. I'll PM you the address.

I appreciate the offer, Olly, but I think that'll be too small. The 3.5 I have now is barely sufficient for just me and some gear in my 7 footer.

I think he was running it on a 12 ft Jon. I took it apart and cleaned the carb and got it running again after it sat outside thru a few MI winters to use on my 16 footer until I found a suitable engine, but I wound up gettin my 15 before I got finished with it. I'm gona take it out and run it on my boat just for shits and giggles once it warms up.

My 9.9 on my 14ft alum boat will push it plenty quick, so on that little thing you are going to make it should do just fine. When the motor wasn't running quite right, it was pushing it at 11 or 13mph by my phones gps, and it'll do a little more when running right. You won't be winning races, but it'll move you plenty, and my motor I can pick up and haul around just fine so I'd guess it's weight around 60lbs?

Oh, and jehler I've thought about trying to find a 15 or 25 horse, but it might rattle my boat apart mid-lake.

Pulled one of the torn bushings out. At 85 bucks a piece in gonna go buy some 3M urethane shit that is used to glue NASCAR windshields in and just fill the back cavity. I saw on a ricer car forum where they made engine mounts out of the shit. So any wise guys/ safety rangers who want to tell me how dangerous this idea might be can keep quiet. I don't care what you have to say. On the other hand if you think this is a good nigger rigging attempt let me hear some praise.

25 bucks for a 10.5 ounce tube. (That's the same size as a caulk tube)

shop around, shouldn't be more than $18
and for the record, absolute genius fix, will most likely be better than oem

Ahhh I see.
25 bucks a tube doesn't bother me when I see people making motor mounts and glueing convertible tops back together. Wonder if the 5200 is just as good though?

for the record 3m 5200 would be perfect for that, just make sure you have a way to align it well, the shit takes 2 days to dry, but it drys hard but still slightly pliable, and is very strong, a nuclear warhead wouldnt pull it apart

i used 5200 to caulk the bolt holes in my pods when i bolted them to my boat, when i moved them to my new boat jr could still stand on the pods without the bolts on them, i had to drive a wedge in to get them off and I feared ripping the aluminum

it may be a little stiffer than you want? i dont know, but I know i would give it a try if it were me. only thing that worries me is what made the mounts go in the first place? does the motor shake pretty bad?

No. Looks like it was backed into or hit by something.

5200 is some gnarly shit. Don't get it anywhere you don't want it. I used it to quick fix a gouge in my boat hull. Held all season.
