Tiller extension

Will one I those minn Kota tiller extensions work for an outboard?

I used a piece of PVC. Pull the rubber handle off the tiller, and get PVC which has an ID the same as the tiller (so it won't quite fit). Then cut 2 slits in an "x" up the pipe about 6 inches, and slide it on. Put a hose clamp around the base, and wrap with cloth tape. Mine has worked for 2 seasons like that, and cost about $1.50.

One of our members Jenfinger did the same thing, using PVC to extend his tiller arm. Seems to work out pretty good.

Did the same on Jehlers tender. His had a kill switch on the end of the tiller handle so we drilled a hole in the side of the PVC so you could reach it.
