soon to be AIRBOAT

Airboat !!!
This is my new airboat, Whatcha think ?
All I need is a few more parts, and it will be sea worthy RIGHT ?
I checked the compression "0" on all 4 cylinders. What?
Plan "B"
I adjusted the Lifters and bam I had compression.
125 on #1 119 on #2 120 on #3 and 129 on #4.
It's a 1971 bug motor I'm thinking that will work for now.

On that same subject Anyone up on there VW ID and knowledge?
The # on the generator post Identifies it as a 1971 1600 cc 60 hp. motor. BUT for a carburetor I need to know if it is single or double port? I can see it is a one barrel and Single carb. Then there is some kind of thing like 3e or something What's that?
Need a little help here guys I want to get a carb, coil, Distributor cap points plug wires and starter on order and see if thing will spring to life...

Damn this is going to be a big project! Sorry I can't be much help but please keep us posted.
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.” ― Samuel Adams

Cool project!
Have you ever wondered why your dick still looks brand new, but your face is starting to look like an aging pirate?

It's going to be a SLOW project, as $$$ is available.
It is a Mini not made for speed or big water. Two people a few guns and that about it. It will run on mostly part dry river beds, Ice and snow more then deep water, but it WILL have to be able to navigate open deep water too.

Got it running really nice.
New Carb, starter, elc. fuel pump, voltage regulator, red hot coil, cap, wires, points , plugs,.
I found an old Johnson skee horse with the drive in good working order I'm going to try to use the belt torque converter and chain drive to run the prop off the fly wheel end of the motor.

Sorry about the pictures we picked up the Johnson when we were out getting out Christmas trees.

I don't think that VW motor is going to turn enough RPMs to run the snowmobile system. Most of those clutch systems don't come in till 3-4000 rpm. But hey what do I know, good luck

The old Johnson only turned 4500 wot. I'm hoping I can tone it down with different weights

Have a 13' Carsten Pintail with a motor mount already on it. I think you could get airborne if you put what you got on there.

Maybe.
I looked it up It may float the bug motor but I'm afraid it would spin the boat rather then the fan..
Little to small but thanks.
Maybe I could use two like Pontoons...
