My manual sucks it's from Johnson.

It's not a hard task to rebuild the water pump.
Haven't done mine in at least 5 years so maybe I better just do it.
Every other year I put new oil in the lower unit.
I've gotten away with poor maintenance for years I better get busy.
New plugs an everything.
Then buy a new boat or something.
You can always use 2 more feet of boat and 25 more horsepower.

Was an annual thing during my Capt. Rick phase. Lot of sand in the redfish and flounder shallows.

I'm usually running in pretty clean water.
Can afford a new pump kit.
It's freaky easy if you've got the tools.
Last weekend mine was working fine so "it worked great last time".
Isn't that what we all say?

Another common one is:
The 2 greatest days of boat ownership is the day you bought it and the day you sell it.

Years ago, I had something chew up my impeller and I ended up burning up the motor. What sucked worse is I had drug my boat to Florida and had a whole vacation planned around it. Crapped out on the Crystal River. When I pulled off to the side to see what was wrong. My wife was with me. All of the sudden a shitload of vultures landed in the trees around us :o Looked like they were thinking "tourist for dinner." Thankfully a commercial fisherman, I think crabs, helped us out and towed us back to the launch about 2 miles away.

On the plus side, we scrapped our plans and headed across the Everglades. While sightseeing on one of the unmaintained side roads we had a panther walk across the road in front of us.
