Nice gun Eric, and now you won't have that nagging question in your head "is going to cycle?", when you pull the trigger

Great gun, I have one and I have always liked Beretta guns, shotguns and pistols.
Hoping you have plenty opportunities to use it.

My stand was a Laura victim. Picked up the new one today from a guy who has a small sawmill north of Calhoun. He build them out of rough cut cypress, cedar, and pine.

I picked out the metal roof myself at Medlin's in Ruston. They keep a lot of leftover metal from big custom orders in all colors, I thought the red was a nice touch. The lady cashier was pretty tickled at my excitement about having a red roof on my box stand.

Will take nephew Hunter next Saturday morning for youth season opener, then probably take a load of decoys to camp.

For now, just bonding with the new piece. Image

If you're like me, that misplaced Beretta safety will take some getting used to.

Given my choice, I prefer the beretta safety location over one that's rear of trigger, goes well with a readied trigger finger fore of the trigger and easy move from there.

It will be an adjustment, especially remembering to find it after each volley. The rear safety brownings has become second nature. I'll figure it out though.

Congratulations on the new gun. The Beretta will be one of the best hunting choices you have ever made.

When I switched from long-time Beretta (front safety) to Benelli (rear).....can't recall it being something of much significance. You'll kill birds dead just fine

For the people that have known me for a long time, they were shocked I went away from Browning, but I got a problematic Maxus and a wore out gold, with nothing they currently offer that attracts my attention.

I just hope it hooks hard east. Our rice is cut but I would very much like a dry October.

This morning's graphic much more "interesting" given the "M" denotations. Ughhhhhhhh

Only minor silver lining is that the water between that M and landfall is cooler from these last couple cold fronts. At least it shouldn’t jump from big to monster right before landfall.

Even further west this morning. God Bless the folks of SW La. and all of the La. for that matter. My old high school played Iowa last night at home in Marksville. The game was moved from Friday for obvious reasons. Last night was Iowa's first game of the season and our second. I have to wonder if Iowa will play another game this season? I feel for the seniors.

Thanks John. That means a lot. There are really a lot of good folks on here and I really enjoy the conversation.

Lots of prayers headed your and Rick’s direction. We are in the path but you two are much closer than me.

The rain amounts along 165 from Iowa to Alexandria are scary, almost 20" in some places.

Guys, Darren is to blame for all of this. He jinxed us back in august. That weather prediction was weekend Laura hit.

We made it out good. Lot of rain but no power outages for us. Power went out at camp and that whole area went under water. Will have to pump blinds again.

Meat looks great! Lot of people forget about what these storms do inland, like in N/NE La in case of Laura and Delta, especially with heavy rain and tornadoes.

More speck reports incoming in next 7 days, I'm sure of it!
