45 aouto pistol hunting

I have a sig 1911 scorpion carry and im wanting to shoot a deer with it this year.im looking at buffalo bore 255 grain cast fn.does anybody have experience with these or any suggestions

My grandpa shot the face off a doe with a .357 about 3 years before I was born. That's all I got.

I shot one with a P220 and 230gr FMJ from about 15 yards and piled her right up.

I think I'd limit my self to 20-25 yds max with a .45ACP

that's my plan no further than 25yds gonna be outta a bow set

Yeah, if you treat shot selection like you would with a bow it should be fine.

I finished a couple off with my kimber .45 using some personal protection loads. The hollow points just loaded up with hair and never expanded. I've since gone to some Montana gold bullets but haven't had a chance to use them yet.
