Today was the last day of my 6 day hunt. I had class I couldn't miss all day Tuesday and this afternoon. So I had 4 1/2 days to hunt and spent every hour of daylight I could in the woods sitting in a tree stand. Today I had to be done by 10 and 9:30 rolled around and a hadn't seen a deer on the day. Then a stick broke and I turned to look and there was a deer about 75 yards out. Pulled up the binos and saw it was a decent 8pt...a shooter for me especially on the last 1/2 of the hunt. Pulled out the call and gave him 3 quick quiet grunts. He turned and came straight at me and was going to cross 10 yards away right to my left. He went behind a big tree and I drew back. When he stepped out a have him a little mouth grunt to stop him and let the arrow fly. Put it a little further back than I wanted, but still got both lungs. The blood trail was an easy follow and this was at the end.

Me too. It was a fun hunt either way, but putting a deer down was icing on the cake. Saw 30-40 deer. 10 were bucks and 4 were decent racks...2 of them were wall hangers.
