Pictures for Oly

Oly you had asked about a bear hunt I went on a few years ago. I went with some friends to Manitoba and we flew in to a remote spot. I spent a week there, fishing, drinking and spending time in a tree stand. I saw several bears, including a mother with cubs. saw a cinnamon phase bear early in the week I wanted, and although he was small, the fur was really pretty. I shot him on my last day of hunting. It was a great trip.

Never shot one, why I don't know how big a bear is.

TK, pretty bear. I have never seen a color phase bear in person. We have huge bears and a lot of them but we don't have any color phase bears. Once in a while you will see one with a white patch on it's chest.

This one was pretty. The red was cool in his coat. It was a great adventure, I am glad I did it.

Cool trip! I'm jealous. Thank you for sharing the pictures.

Black bears are a lot smaller than people think. The average weight is a lot less and it comes in a compact package.

An adult female is going to be in the 150 lb range and maybe around 100 lbs. Adult males start out around the same size, but they keep adding weight over time while the sows do not tend to get much bigger with age.

So yes, they are supposed to be that size. I'd be happy with one a hell of a lot smaller since I have yet to get a bear and would shoot a cub just as quick as I would a young of the year duck or deer.

That's a beautiful bear TK.

The second pic, there is a hand in the picture that appears to be holding the bear while he chews on the persons finger.

It's a picture of a computer screen. The hand is a reflection.

x2

I would like to see a pic of it. Did you have it done with the head and feet still attached? If I ever get to kill a color phase or a 500+ pound black, I will have a rug/wall hanger made.

Yeah I've basically just had the clause and had left attached and totally caped out I will see about getting you guys a pic. Obviously my little cinnamon bear is not all that impressive compared to some big ones but I worked for it.

As you so aptly put it, it's bigger than any bear I've shot!
