Does everyone here have enough shotgun shells for the season? If not good luck finding some.

I bought a case a few months ago and had another case in the camper from the season of the hurricanes, so we'll see how this holds up. We also had shells left from the 2019 teal season (low brass) that we had purchased before the hurricanes that got us through September.

Still have a case plus of 2s and a case of BBs stashed somewhere. That should get me through, although I’ll be a little more mindful of my shots this year.

Rogers has had some online sporadically, Academy shelves have some if you catch the timing right.

I'm in good shape for the foreseeable, if I run out of those, we'll need more freezers.

I found a case of Kent 3" #2 1 3/8 oz @ Rogers a couple of weeks ago, and pulled the trigger as soon as I found them. Paid more than I cared to ($219), but price is relative, and as others have mentioned, probably gonna be the new normal :( I've still got a half-dz boxes of #4's and and a half-dz boxes of BB, along with a bunch of assorted partial boxes. As bad as things have been, I went ahead and bought a case of dove shells for next year when I saw them available last week, even if I did have to pay $119 for them, it's money in the bank.

Wal mart actually has been getting Winchester 3” shells regularly. Although I had a cousin send me a picture of several cases on the shelf and the next evening they were gone.
These are just the dryloks $11/box

Certain that they are actual Dryloks @ $11 a box? That's insanely cheap for two years ago, much less today. Given today's scene of scarcity, has me wondering if I dont get on the hunt for a backup case, just to have.

NOTE: Saw that Rogers had cases of Rio 3.5" #3's in stock for 219.99 a case available this morning. Pretty dang decent deal for current conditions

Academy here in BR has some Monarchs, Winch. Xpert, Kent Teal Steel, couple others all in stock, 3" 12 gauge.

Monarchs in #2 and #3, 13.99, Xpert in same shot sizes, $16.99

XPERT IS $16.99 a box, what has the world come to!??? I suppose gone are the days of the $90.00 case, shipped to your door.

With the high costs and low availability now, I hate to think we might be crying worse next year, and it isn't just shotgun shells :o

You’re right. These are just super X xperts . But yes they were only $11/box

Good price on those Xperts since Academy had them for 16.99 when I went this week

Leaving for the camp today - we are putting out decoys, pumping out blinds and brushing blinds for youth weekend next week.
Hoping to see some of the ducks in Dave's video tomorrow.

It was a good weekend to work, clear a little wind and good temp. We pumped out all the blinds, found some very good vegetation to brush the blinds and put out the decoys. All that is lacking is ducks, I saw very few and what I did see were Bluewing Teal. In the 7 hours we were working I only saw about 50 ducks. Will be hunting Saturday with 2 grandsons, hope some ducks show up this week.
The water in the marsh is high, we need the water to drop 8 to 10 inches, that won't happen by the weekend.

I know this is way early, but has anyone heard what the shotgun shell outlook is for next season. I had enough this year, with a few boxes left over, but was wondering if we will be scrambling for shells next season.

I was wondering the same thing so I sent an email to Winchester a month or so ago asking that same question on a particular load and received a quick response.

Answer:

Like many manufacturers in the shooting sports industry, we are experiencing an extremely high demand for our products. We are working as hard as we can to produce an increased supply of quality ammunition to meet our customers’ needs. We appreciate your patience and like always, thank you for choosing Winchester.

The official unofficial word going around last summer was "September". Didn't say which September.

Yea I remember the report of "there will be more duck loads closer to the season" and I just didn't see it. Still have good many shells but I'd advise all to be on the lookout DAILY to jump on whatever comes along that suits you. Don't wait for deals or prices of the old days.

I've checked off and on since last July, and happened to catch one or two of the rare moments @ Roger's had a few in stock, and ordered a case of #2's, a case of BB's, and a case of dove shells for next year. Based on what I've seen this year, could very well be a lifetime supply

Rogers and Mack’s both have some cases of 3” #2s currently available. Xperts, apex, and Kent’s. You’ll be paying $200 and north per case though.

I saw that, but I like #3 shot, and will hold off for a while, hoping they will be available later
