Well definitely nothing spectacular but first hunt of the season and I am on the board. Should’ve had four or five more but we won’t talk about that ha ha

It’s a start! I’ll see if I can fix up the topic when I get to my desktop in the AM

Definitely felt great to be out again! Should’ve went out this morning as I found a 200 plus honker feed but need to get some more stuff around the house done. First days off in over a month.

Anyone can retitle a thread for one post.
The secret is out.

Glad y'all had some action PC, and it's usually the one's that you didn't get, but should have, that keep you going back.
Thanks for the report!

I realize you always think that you’re smarter than the average bear but you’re not. There is a time limit to do it and if you don’t beat that time limit then you can’t edit.

My new post title in your thread

He just meant that every individual can change the subject of their response to your thread, not that you can edit the original post.

Notice the subject of your response to Mr. Spanish.

Just being being funny in his way.

Yep I know you can do that. Just another instance where he doesn’t need to make a thread about something it isn’t.

Hey I used to sit around trying to concoct an epic thread title. I'd have it and some jerk would ignore the thread "template" and the 'response chain' and derail "it".
Sigh...there are always two jokers in the deck.
Not even funny.
If you could just title it right...
It was admin.
So far I'm not a global mod.

Honestly couldn’t care! This is my hunting thread for the season. If you have a comment about my hunting pictures or story please feel free to comment if you’re able to do it in a comprehendible fashion. If it is mindless dribble that has nothing to do with the subject of my hunting experience, and you feel the need to get it out of your system, feel free to write it on a piece of paper, take that paper and roll it into a ball, then throw in the garbage. Thank you!

Another option is to just restart the thread to clean up all this mess so you have a clean(er) log.

Congrats on having some success. I'll be very happy if I get one bird on Thursday.

Good luck on Thursday! We may hit it again on Friday evening. The high is only supposed to be in the low 70s. Even with putting that bird in the truck with the air conditioner on yesterday it was pretty warm when I got home. Surprisingly for early season bird he was very easy to clean!

Skinning the early geese is easy.
For motivation at some point this year I will film the "hidden in plain sight" mall pond/roost when it's icy. DICKS at Marketplace Mall.
Just sit in the parking lot and watch the show..

You have just told us, that you have not shot a lot of, if any, North Dakota August early-season honkers without actually telling us that you have not shot a lot of, if any, North Dakota August early season honkers!

For reference I have shot early-season Geese in North Dakota, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, I guess you could put Alaska in there even though it technically is not called early season and a few other states. No comparison!!

I been to south Dakota and not north of there except Alaska but I wasn't hunting. You win until we start counting mallards.

I'll try an kill a Canadian tomorrow....lol.

Hotdog I’ll take it even though 90% of the doves and teal that can fly will be gone.

And I say if they can fly because this morning I had a brood of blue wings walk in front of me and they looked like they just hatched in the last couple days.

Sounds like we may see a few blue wing during the regular season down here, again.

That all sounds great, a very staggered blue wing migration such that more are around in Nov/Dec, count me in!

Saw some teal but if I'd search I bet the ends of the "C-shaped lake" are probably packed with them little duck birds. Lots of pelicans are here.
I'm not going to push my boat thru 1/2 mile of muck just to see. To access where the teal go you need an airboat kind of.

Weenie.

I've tried an I've tried but I can't get that Mansfield guy to push my boat despite hunting across the lake from him.
Last year a pair of goldeneye were there..I shot the drake and he got the hen.

All he has to do is walk over thru a foot of muck.

I see myself as more of a pussy. I am what I eat.

Well I did a little scouting tonight for some honkers and also for youth season and veteran season which opens up next weekend on the 17th so I just wanted to check the duck situation. Here’s one video. Pretty much unimpressed with the spot. But a couple flocks did come from Highup so they might’ve been out feeding in a field somewhere. I will remain optimistic! But also as I mentioned in the video a lot of them are going to another pothole less than a mile away to the east so they could’ve been in there. There had been a little over 1000 using the one in this video. Pretty much a mixed bag of everything.
