Note to the log: a mud motor with an outboard power head!

Pro drive has unveiled a mud motor lower married to a 50 Hp outboard power head. Looks to be a tohatsu. Closed loop cooling system. I’ll be very interested to see it running.

Can't be keel cooled unless sold as a unit with a boat equipped for such, so where's the radiator and fan?

Don’t have all of the details but I understand the radiator and fan are in the boat somewhere. Maybe transom-mounted?

Holy hell look at the trailer.
Has a hitch for another trailer for the recovery boat for when I tear this one up.

Had to read title a few times until I got it.
You're warning the logs?
Like that'll work.

Who all here has hit a log going 20 or better?
It'll shake u up good.

I’ve done it. Jumbles your insides, pisses the dog off, and puckers your butt.

Several times :( I've hit them so hard it knocked the cowling off the motor on two different occasions. One time I had to swim for it :o temps in the 20's. The other time it sheared the end on one of the coils, and I was able to limp in. Another time, was with a buddy in his boat, and hit an old submerged wooden barge. It broke the housing around the foot.......above the 4 bolts that hold it on :o The whole thing dropped down about an inch, and we used rope to put a sling on it to keep it from completely dropping off. Good times............NOT!!!!!

It's always a relief when my ass lands right back in the captains chair.

I’m now left with even more questions on the closed loop water cooled system. It sounded like he said the little radiator is mounted to the bottom of the boat?! Maybe I misunderstood, but that setup won’t work for me unfortunately. Would imagine it’d get packed with mud too. But they’re they experts, so hopefully they have it figured out.

Studying the thing.
It's "rigged" imo but I'd call "keel-cool" a heat exchanger because that's what it is.
Cool. What could possibly go wrong with that?

So I lied, someone can weld their keel cooling duct to your boat's bottom. Not sure I like that, given all the timber and such some surface drives are run over, but guess it might hold up. More used to keel cool channels within, and shielded by, the hull.

My luck the first log I hit would break the welds. Although my hull is hooked enough that I might be able to sneak it in the recess between stringers
