Hopefully he learned his lesson and not the lesson my grandparents collie learned. When he was a young dog, he encountered his first skunk and it it nailed him in the eyes. Instead of learning to leave skunks alone. The lesson he learned was that he must kill every skunk on the planet. Thankfully he was an outside farm dog, because he killed a lot of skunks :o

He only ever had one run in with a porcupine. They were not very common where I grew up and I had the quills for the longest time but lost them somewhere along the way.

I have heard the same thing in regards to porcupines either the dog learns his lesson or it tries to get revenge. The way he was barking and I couldn’t get them out of there I’m guessing this will happen again in his future

There’s something about the way their tails wiggle that makes my heart skip a beat!

Hard to believe it was 13 years ago I took her on her first hunting trip! Now she’s the best hunting partner a dad could ask for! That day was extremely cold and everything was covered in thick frost. She walked for miles without a complaint! She woke up the next morning and did it again. From that point forward all that kid wants to do is go hunting and fishing. I can only hope and pray that someday she meets a man that has the same passion for the outdoors as she does!

We had just about a hour to walk to try to relive this memory. We went to the same spot I shot the limit over reaper. Unfortunately I shot the bird and not her. She did have a rooster get up in front of her but she was a bit too slow and with the dog being there the rooster was too low. So she made the right choice not to pull the trigger. Found some honkers so hope to get into them in the morning

I did think it was fitting that I shot the bird.

How about you match what I pay

I also thought it was fitting that's why I mentioned it, you're the one in the post above that use the term "unfortunately"...

I know I'm s***** at this posting, was just trying to post something funny, with the comment about Vinny's fee... Hence the

I will critique my posting, no more funny...

I used the word unfortunately just because it would’ve been nice for her to get one. Just to show the evolution of tagging along to becoming the killer. But my main goal of the hunt was to get at least one so we could re-create the picture. No need to critique your posting! 99.999999% of your replies tickle me

I would love to chase pheasant one day. The only encounter I've ever had with a pheasant was to flush a rooster from a grass covered ditch in a harvested alfalfa field. We were parked and camped there to attend the EAA airventure in Oshkosh Wisconsin.

That was the only time I can remember having to wear a jacket in August, except for my High Level Alberta trip which was in September.

It’s definitely a great time especially if you have good dogs to watch
