Never mind the pheasants and sharptails, Huns are what had me planning a move to ND before I found out I'd landed in what was then bobwhite Heaven down down here.

Appears to have been drugged. Shot him over a pot patch?

Finally shot a limit over Reaper! Definitely should’ve had one much earlier but my shooting has been embarrassing! Today wasn’t so hot either but had enough opportunities. What should’ve been my third bird was probably the biggest rooster I ever saw in this country. They are much bigger and wilder overseas.

I did not bring his shock collar today as I didn’t really think we were going to put much time in. Was mainly looking for Waterfowl. So once or twice he ranged a bit too far. I don’t have to shock him anymore. Just the beep on the collar gets him to come back. Anyways this boy has progressed leaps and bounds from just a month ago. So very happy with him!

There you go... Mighty fine...
When you put that collar around their neck it's like adding a second set of ears... I only use the tone also that's all that's needed, but you need it when they get excited...

The upland will make him a better cripple retriever, he will learn so much more about his nose and how to use it...
In my mind upland is all about the dog if they do their job you get birds, if they don't, you won't...
Waterfowl hunting is boring comparatively to me, for the dog...

It's also easy hunting to me, even if you leave your pheasant decoys at the house...

No spread would be complete without a spinner!

Thank you, how many spinners would you recommend?

I don't use spinners except for Doves...

Yes I did it. There was a small one on his leg that as soon as I touched it it went right into his leg under the skin. The vet said it should be OK but to keep an eye on it.

The bird dog hunters pull them out, I was just wondering if you would try...

Moe has pointed three of them (knock on wood) I hope he keeps it that way...

Hope everything turns out ok with Reaper...

Thankfully I was able to pull most of them out with my fingers. Used needle nose pliers on the rest of them. My last lab got into one and those were much more difficult to get out. Reaper‘s first encounter with one he didn’t even care about it. Today I could hear him barking in the cattails and he wouldn’t come out even with pressing his collar a few times so I had to go in there. I never did see the porcupine but it obviously was in there

If I was just able to set up the pheasant decoys and flyers this would’ve never happened
